The Game Plan For
Mind-ing The Gap

" For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5

At 3:00am one morning, a few years ago I was awaken from sleep hearing these words "Creation takes place between the spaces or gaps". I thought to myself , "what in the world is this?" I immediately wrote it down. I am now looking at the the index card that I actually wrote it on years ago.

Also, on this index card I have written two of my favorite quotes:

"Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and CREATION there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans; that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way." W.H. MURRAY

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." GOETHE COUPLET

The part that jumped out at me was "Concerning all acts of INITIATIVE AND CREATION there is one elementary truth"............... This, I thought; is parallel to the message that "creation takes place between the spaces or gaps".

It took me some time of seeking and study to understand this and then one day like a nickel connecting in a slot machine I got it.

Throughout our lives we've encounter situations, circumstances and issues, some positive, negative or catastrophic even. Our responses to most of these events are conditioned responses. We respond based on what we have seen modeled before us, heard spoken of us, what we believe about ourselves and what has been done to us from our past...(ie.,culture, tradition, socioeconomic status, emotion, past perception).

These responses are mere REACTIONS. My computer defines it as any response caused by some other event. "Any response caused by some other event"!Think about it. Do you really want your life to be governed by "some other event" or would you prefer to have a conscious focused CHOICE of how you want your life to be. To have your life governed by "some other event" is to experience "any ole result" which leaves you powerless and frustrated.

How can you empower your responses? With conscious ACTION and your creative power to CHOOSE! Lets examine.

Situations, Circumstances and Issues are but mere events or Stimulus. The stimulus is not the principle thing! Although most of us act as if it were so! Between stimulus and response there lies a sacred place. It's called the GAP. The GAP is your window of opportunity. The GAP is where creation takes place! In this GAP lies the ability to create whatever you want to be, do and have. You can either respond with a conditioned response, meaning from your past, emotions, traditions or culture or you can make a conscious deliberate response that will empower you by projecting you to where you desire to be.

Moreover, I like to use scriptures from the bible in the GAP. Our creative power of CHOICE was given to us by God, in order that we can live our greatest potential, so why not use His scriptures to functionally relate to the gift. Makes good sense to me!

Whenever there is a decision to make, my Mind will always give me a thought. Now, remember that thought (if it hasn't been trained to reflect what you desire in that specific area) will be based on your conditioning. This is the moment to bring that thought captive. If you observe, you have tens of thousands of thoughts running through your mind like a ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN channel and the majority of them are conditioned from the past. So, naturally you will have a conditioned response to the decision. This is challenging. You have to stay poised and ready to strike, that thought down or it will take you where you don't want to go, revisiting the past in a systematic, cycle of mundane repeat performances!

Now, when a dis empowering thought enters your mind, (meaning one that does not serve your purpose in life), you should immediately replace it with an empowering thought.

For example, If a thought enters my mind that will guide me to believe that I don't have enough of something. I will immediately replace it with. "But my God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:19. If it is a financial thought that does not resonate with abundance. I replace it with " Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness." 2 Corinthians 9:10.

I understand God's Plans and Patterns of Seed Time and Harvest for multiplication (Galatians 6:9). You must plant a seed to get a harvest(Malachi 3:10). So, I meticulously tithe and observe the Appointed times that God has ordained (Exodus 12: 1-24).

If I have a thought regarding a person that has worked my last nerve, I immediately replace it with "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8) or I will replace it with a prayer (Ephesians 3: 14-21).

The Game Plan and Pattern of God is for you to live in a state of being that reflects abundant life. “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 People the tools that God has given us overcomes the world and the things of the world. These weapons are not carnal, meaning they are not merely human, but Spiritual! He has given us a mighty weapon to combat the strongholds of conditioned responses!

In London "Mind the Gap" is a phrase used to warn passengers when they are boarding the Underground train. They are warned to watch their step because there is a Gap between the platform level and the train cars. If they fall within the Gap they can be seriously injured or even be killed. Let me warn you to "Mind The Gap", when you find yourself in many of those idle moments of thought, remember to take the thought captive if it doesn't serve you and replace it with what's in your best interest. This is your creative moment. How will you "Mind The Gap?"

"And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." Romans 12: 2
