The Game Plan For Creating Magic In A Child
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it". Proverbs 22:6
Watching my son play is one of my favorite pastimes. On this particular night Justin discovered magic! Justin is 5 years old, very inquisitive, loves toy cars, trucks, cartoons, and to entertain. This night was entertainment night. Justin was at the center of the room and the center of attention as he likes it. Justin is holding a plastic hanger with a wire head. He begins to twirl the hanger using the wire head through his finger tips. I encouraged him on. He wanted to please mom, he continued on, he started to twirl it from side to side, behind his back twirling and twirling. I encouraged him even more. "Justin, that is awesome" I said. "Look at my boy" I yelled! I was exaggerating of course.
The more I yelled the more he performed. His performance progressed to jumps, flips, turns and kicks and the like. He finished and I gave him thumbs up and more adulation. He was beaming with pride in himself and smiling from ear to ear. He turned to leave the room and before he got all the way out he turned around and stated; "THIS HANGER IS MAGIC!"
Like a flash of lightening my mind ran a computerized calculation of my son's statement: "Those who look WITHOUT to FORMS, computerize the data, and read the computer's answers without cranking in the CAUSE arrive at incomplete, and as a result inaccurate, knowledge. The product of WITHOUT computation is the answer to an EFFECT, not the solution to a CAUSE".
Immediately I was able to recognize a primordial endemic thought pattern that exists throughout humanity. A thought pattern that is the root cause of all of humanities ills. "The thought that power and solutions are outside of ourselves". Projecting our power into FORMS instead of knowing that CAUSE is primary and originates WITHIN. We have long looked to the outside to find ourselves and to cure our ills. With this new consciousness era you know that nothing exist outside of yourself . All power comes from within. So, what exactly did my son do: He projected his power outside of himself. He gave the power to the Hanger, instead of himself. His terminology to describe his power was Magic! Most children relate to their power within this way. This was the opportune time to teach my son Spiritual consciousness. He is only learning and it is my responsibility to help him develop and cultivate a healthy recognition and realization of his spiritual nature. Playtime is a perfect time to do this. Watch them play and pay attention to what they are saying! I have many nieces and nephews and two grandchildren as well. I love children and watching them play can be very entertaining especially when you are watching with an increased awareness yourself!
So, how did I admonish Justin regarding his statement: "THIS HANGER IS MAGIC!" I simply said; "Justin that hanger has no power at all. You are the one who twirled that hanger. It was you who performed so well. It was your skills and talent that made the hanger twirl and you did a magnificent job doing it! You are powerful!" Standing there for a quiet minute, just looking at me with a very curious look on his face, now his mind computerizing the data that I had just given him. At last his mind delivered its computation: "I am Not Going To Do This Anymore!" In spite of his answer. I knew that he had emerged out of that computation victoriously! When a new idea or concept is introduced to anyone's mind, the mind will compute it and answer back. Watch this! Just watch! Don't react. Continue to admonish Spiritual consciousness regardless of the response.
Our children need to know who they are early on in life. They should be persuaded of their Divine Image. That they are first and foremost Spiritual Beings with a body and not vice versa, as well as their oneness with the Father through through Jesus Christ and of their gifts and talents.
Did Justin ever twirl a hanger again? Of course he did!
The results that I see reflected in Justin's behavior at home and at school are a constant reminder that God's Game Plan For Life does not return void! Lets encourage our children with more of Godly Principles, creative self expression and a little less academic performance. Justin thinks very highly of himself and others. He absolutely loves school. His teachers adore him and always has something great to say about him. One of his teachers made this statement " I wish all my kids had Justin's Spirit!". I was in the least bit shocked by her statement because I know that whats WITHIN will be reflected WITHOUT. Our children are our greatest resources. It is they that will be our future leaders, law makers, citizens and their individual and collective thought patterns will be the outward effect. With a little organized effort, focused during playtime we can affect the world! NOTE: Since the initial writing of this article Justin has graduated from Pre-K as distinguished student!
